Erasmus+ International Training Course:
Finding Treasures for Self-Healing
We provide a trining course for professionals in education and
training, including staff and teachers/trainers in educational
institutions of all levels, as well as staff from companies working
in the field of education and training.
The basis of our work are the results of Aaron Antonovskys
(Sociologist 1923 -1994) field research on which he founded the new
term salutogenesis. With this new term A. Antonovsky has directed
his main attention to those factors which lead to a healthy or
health improving development. The salutogenic approach directs
attention systematically to recognizing and integrating those
factors which contribute in staying healthy or improving health. In
this context health is seen in a wider sense (WHO) and not only as
the absence of illness.
In a systematic application of what salutogenesis means, new
communicative faculties are acquired which improve the
(re)discovery and apppreciation of resources, strategies to cope
with crises and potentials. In this way, the image of one-self can
change: from the image of one-self as passively experiencing to
acquiring confidence in one’s creative abilities. This covers the
whole field of life (health, coping with life and crises,
developing one’s own creativity). The international transcultural
exchange improves the possibilities of development and strengthens
the transcultural capabilities.
This positive approach is without restriction applicable in adult
education. It implies to look more for the success in learning,
becoming aware and appreciating individual capability and
abilities, respecting individual personalities, stressing
responsibility for one’s own life and strengthening the ability for
lifelong learning. In this way the possibilities of individual
development can be improved. At the same time this enables us to
master the challenges of our time.
AIMS:
- to acquaint participants with the theory of salutogenesis
- to transfer the understanding of salutogenesis to practical life
in the sense of getting to know oneself
-through self experience the central terms will be experienced
(coherence, resilience, resources for resistance
-learning methods in order to apply these experiences to practical
work in individual cases.
PARTICIPANTS GAIN:
- improved recognition of their own resources, potentials,
abilities
- positive view of oneself
- improved feeling of one’s own value and coherence
- in this way improving transcultural capabilities
- attentiveness towards oneself and others
- self- responsibitity
- confidence in your ability to act
- freedom to make your own decisions
- reduction/removal of creeds which block action
- new competence in dialogue and communication
- improved competence in further education
These acquired abilities lead in professional life to competence in
realizing the potentials of the individual. They improve
development and achievement (individual and in groups), by lack of
fear and stress. Improved health is made possible.
